Developing a website for CPTA is more challenging than what you might think. However, our membership has asked for one and communicating without the internet to tenants living in Columbia Plaza with 800 units in five different buildings is virtually impossible. So, with this in mind, with a small group of volunteers, here we go. .
The CPTA website is intended as a one-stop access to information which will make your living experience as pleasurable as possible and provide a way for you to understand more about the community in which you live. The website contains information on -
* Shops, services and entertainment in the Foggy Bottom area - including phone numbers and websites, as well as additional information such as takeout menus, price lists as available, and instructions on using the laundry room, the gym equipment, etc.
* Emergency phone numbers;
* DC Tenant Bill of Rights, including provisions on rent control, security deposits, etc. cited from the DC Office of Tenant Advocacy; and
* News on important announcements and meetings of the CPTA and upcoming events in the area, and possibly features on individuals with special talents living in Columbia Plaza.
To entice you to join the CPTA, we will be offering special discounts or other promotional materials from enghborhood stores available only to members. Dues are not high so we hope you will join. The dues collected will help defray the cost of operating and hosting a website. In addition, the website will provide a space for CPTA members to advertise their services or "goods for sale".
We hope you will give us your feedback, especially any thoughts you might have to improve the website. But, please be kind and remember that we are all volunteers. The website will be a work in progress and we would welcome your help, but, at a minimum, we need your patience.
